Hockey5s world cup is a newly inaugurated form of hockey with 5 players on each side of field. It is short than original hockey and is played in two halves, 15 min each and total 30 mins. Hockey5s world cup will be played between 28th-31st January 2024. Its world cup will be something thrilling and exciting for fans who loves shorter format of Hockey.

Teams from different continent have played qualifier event to qualify for Hockey5s World cup 2024. Oman has qualified for world cup on the basis of being host country. Teams from all over world perform their level best to be on the top side of the continental qualifiers to qualify for Hockey5s qualifier.

Pakistan has played Asian Hockey5s World Cup Qualifiers with teams like India, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan etc. Top 3 teams were able to qualify for World Cup 2024 in Oman. Pakistan qualified for semifinals after India, Bangladesh and Japan in group stages. Afterword's, Pakistan played its semi-final against Oman and India played its semi-final against Malaysia. Pakistan scored 7 and conceded only 3 goals against Oman while India scored 10 and conceded 4 goals against Malaysia. Pakistan played Final against India While Oman played 3rd-4th place match against Malaysia. In 3rd-4th place match Oman scored 5 goals while Malaysia was Only able to score 4 goals but Still Malaysia qualified as Oman is Pre-Qualified for World cup as a Host nation.

Final against Pakistan was quite exciting as both teams played the game on their top both teams were able to score 4 goals and decision for the winner of Asian Hockey5s World Cup Qualifier was depending on Penalty Stroke and India scored 2 goals and Pakistan was not able to score goals on penalty stroke resulting in India being gold medalist of event while Pakistan being silver medalist and Oman Bronze medalist of the event.

As Oman already had Qualified for World Cup being Host Nation India, Pakistan and Malaysia from this event qualified for Hockey5s World Cup.

It is important to mention that Belgium has pulled out of this event and hence Switzerland is in for this event.

It is inaugural Hockey5s World Cup so it will be very interesting and exciting for not only fans but also for players.

Quaid-e-Azam trophy starts: 2023-2024

  P.C. The Sports news Quaid-e-Azam trophy (Test format) plays an important role in development of new and talented players as many of new era players enjoy T20 cricket. It is said that a proper player is developed through test cricket as they learn patience through this format. The 2023-2024 domestic season will start on 10 th September with both the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the Hanif Mohammad Trophy to be played concurrently.
