A GLIMPSE OF HOPE FOR PAKISTAN’S FOOTBALL TEAM

Pakistan’s youth loves watching football. Many of Pakistani youth follow leagues such as Premier league, Bundesliga, LaLiga, and many others but Pakistan is deprived of its international football since decades and fans are unable to see their home country playing football.

There is a glimpse of hope that Pakistan might qualify FIFA world cup 2026. There are two rounds in Asian Qualifiers. Pakistan will be facing Cambodia in the first round of Asian Qualifier’s. It is a 2-leg game. Pakistan will be playing its first leg on October 12, 2023 and second leg on October 17,2023.

It is very important for Pakistan to win these games and move to round 2 to keep hopes alive of at least playing more competitive football.

Pakistan will play its 2-leg football match against Cambodia in Jinnah stadium, Islamabad. The Commissioner of AFC has also visited Islamabad, Pakistan to see preparations.

Last time Pakistan Faced Bangladesh in qualifiers in Pakistan. After that Pakistan histed Afghanistan back in 2015 for an international friendly match.

Pakistani football fans are eagerly waiting for this match as they have waited a lot to see MEN IN GREEN playing football in their home soil.

Pakistan football federation have already announced the squad for FIFA qualifiers match. Squad consist of 25 players with 3 goal keepers in the squad. Saqib hanif is not part of the squad instead Yousuf butt, Salman-ul-Haq, and Usman Ali will be goal keepers for the side.

Pakistan will be defending their goal in the light if players like Essiah Suliman, Mamoon Moosa khan, Mohibullah, Sohail khan, Junaid, Ali Khan, Abdullah and Rao Umer.

Midfielders in Pakistan team consist of Alamgir ghazi, Ali Uzair, Rajab Ali, Nizam-ud-din, Rahis and Haroon.

Pakistan consists of forwards like Waleed Khan, Mohammad Waheed, Yousuf, Fareed Khan, Abdul Samad, Otis Khan, Moin Ahmed and Shayak Dost who have capability to score goals.

It is worth mentioning that this this team is selected by Pakistan Football Federations selection team with the new coach i.e., Stephen Constantine.

There are many new faces in the team with few international players in likes of Otis khan. Pakistan U-23 team have performed quite brilliantly in SAFF games and won silver medal and Pakistani fans are expecting that kind of high-class performance form this men’s football team.

Pakistan fans believe with the new coach their will be new positive mindset and fill finish the first round of Asian qualifiers of the winning end.

Quaid-e-Azam trophy starts: 2023-2024

  P.C. The Sports news Quaid-e-Azam trophy (Test format) plays an important role in development of new and talented players as many of new era players enjoy T20 cricket. It is said that a proper player is developed through test cricket as they learn patience through this format. The 2023-2024 domestic season will start on 10 th September with both the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the Hanif Mohammad Trophy to be played concurrently.
